The Building

Perfectly Poised at Every Elevation

A stately façade seamlessly connected to the Upper East Side. A remarkable address with just 25 private residences.

A Masterful
Collaboration

The timeless architectural approach by
Robert A.M. Stern Architects is
complemented perfectly with the
interiors' prewar sensibility and parisian
flair by lauded AD100 designer Robert
Couturier, marking his first new
condominium development commission.

“Our goal is expressiveness. 150 East 78th Street will have its own personality, one that will feel completely at home in its wonderful neighborhood.”

Robert A.M. Stern

“Our design grows out of the history of Upper East Side apartment houses, an important chapter in New York’s great tradition of Classicism. Where our building sets back, we’ve taken a page from Upper East Side tradition by adding metal conservatories in a rich green that will play beautifully against the warm tones of our brick and limestone façade, creating spectacular duplex penthouses unlike any we’ve designed to date.”

A Signature
Robert A.M.
Stern Arrival

The entry, framed in fine-tooled
hand-set Indiana limestone, is flanked
by beautiful ornamental lanterns that
create a warm, welcoming glow on
arrival. A tailored canopy, with
scalloped edging, aligns with the
entry's arched opening.

The Elegance of
Robert Couturier

The celebrated AD 100 designer uses a combination of metalwork, antique mirror, crème toned limestone, gold leaf and plaster to infuse the lobby with style and grandeur but also a warm intimacy. The lobby is fitted with fluted plaster walls, a decorative plaster crown and a coved hand-finished gold leaf ceiling. The custom wood, brass and leather detailed concierge desk is attended 24 hours a day.
